This is the final concept for our new walnut slab table. We chose this design because it offers a bit more leg room and less overall weight. In addition, the fabrication costs should also be lower as both sides are identical pieces bolted together in the middle.
Now it’s off to be fabricated out of steel and powder coated with a flat black finish.
After some extensive searching we have finally found the perfect solid wood slab for our new table. Its a 3″ thick piece of Oregon Black Walnut that is at least 200 years old. We chose this particular piece because of its beautiful color and straight edges. Now its off to the kiln to dry for a full two months.
We are beginning a new solid wood slab table project and these are the initial concept designs for the base. It will be made entirely of steel and come in a black powder coat finish or brushed nickel. The table will measure approximately 36″x120″.
